A Renovation For Real Life

Fun was the name of the game on this project! The clients are a young family and had been looking for their dream home for some time. When we first toured this house it was quite dark and had an out of date kitchen and heavy window treatments (can anyone say Balloon shade?!?). Check out some of the before photos!

The client and I worked together and decided that we wanted the home to be filled with fabrics that were welcoming and cheerful, a happy and fun home! We worked on a house wide renovation to resolve floor plan issues and update baths and the kitchen.

The breakfast nook, with its bright colors, is a space the whole family can enjoy for casual meals and board games alike!

The pops of blue in this kitchen bring the space to life.

With a consistent palette of blue, we added pops of green and coral in various rooms to make the home feel continuous but not redundant.

Love this color scheme? Here are a few great options for adding blue, green and coral to your home!

The client fell in love with wallpapers and pattern and we used papers in many spaces to create unique and bright rooms. The paper-backed bookshelves in this office make all of the difference.

Two of my favorites spaces are the laundry room and a craft room for their children. A little bit of color and pattern will take a utilitarian space a long way. And, that new second floor laundry room went a long way towards resolving many of the functional and storage problems faced by this family!

Want to recreate this craft room? A simple trestle table and the classic windsor chair are available from lots of different retailers.

Here are a few of my favorite finds this week, inspired by the color scheme in this renovation!
